It is no secret that today's African American family unit suffers
greatly from a lack of positive male influences. Single mother
households are unfortunately all too commonplace. Compounding the
father-child relationship is the poor relationship between mother and
father. With derogatives like, "baby-mamma-drama", and "baby-daddy",
firmly entrenched in the black family vocabulary, children undoubtedly
form negative connotations of their parents love for each other, and
subsequently, their love for them!
